How to rewrite the Jscript alert function so that the pop up window is customized?

Customized how? There isn't a lot you can change other than the message for an alert(). You can use a promt() to ask a question or confirm() to have an ok/cancel buttons - but that's about it. After that, you are basically down to using some javascript framework to create the dialogs or roll your own custom dialog (could take some time).
