Receive the error message "Windows cannot create the object Michelle Last because: The name reference is invalid" while creating a new AD account.
I receive the error message "Windows cannot create the object Michelle Last because: The name reference is invalid" while creating a new Active Directory account.

I am copying a current user’s account to this new account so that all of the permissions and everything else will be transferred over to the new user.

This occurs on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard edition OS.

What do I need to do to fix this issue?

I would rather copy the account over from the existing account to the new account that I am creating.

When do you get this error while performing migration of users from one domain to other domain or are you doing any kind of import of user account.

Active Directory (AD) is a Microsoft brand for identity-related capabilities. In the on-premises world, Windows Server AD provides a set of identity capabilities and services, and is hugely popular (88% of Fortune 1000 and 95% of enterprises use AD). This topic includes all things Active Directory including DNS, Group Policy, DFS, troubleshooting, ADFS, and all other topics under the Microsoft AD and identity umbrella.
