Poor Contrast (Black) on Desktop PC

I have a desktop PC running windows 7 Ultimate aand I am unable to get a good Contrast between Black & White.
I am using an ACER19" Monitor (New) and all of the colours are a "Milky" tone with very poor Black aand dark greys.
I have tried to ensure that the Display adaptors are upto date but the problem persists, I have tried 2 different monitors but with the same result.
I attach an Everest profile of the PC for information on the system
