McAfee has reduce the performance of HPDV6

Dear Experts,

I have installed McAfee onto windows 7 32bit machine and this has effected the performance of my HP DV6 (i7 , 4GB RAM and good disk space) machine. Any suggestions?

Also after installing, i am unable to open the McAfee control center.

The only reason i have to go with McAfee Total Protection as this has been installed on Production servers, so i have to make sure that everything is clean on development machine as well....

Any suggestions.....

i'm afraid Mc Afee IS the cause :  sehttp://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2332734,00.aspe:

Unresponsive user interface.
--->>>>     Saps system performance.    !!!
Limited and porous firewall. Ineffective parental/privacy control. Difficult installation on malware-infested systems. Malware removal disabled connectivity.

sorry i can't give a solution...
the only thing i know that can help - is if it does a daily scan  - to turn it off, or schedule it in the NOT busy hours
