Hi,
Any suggestions on how to compute the commission with the following information.

Name      Dept         Sales           Commission Amount
Mary         2          4,005.78
Sue         1             500.00
Paulo         1             500.01
Rena          2          1,000.00
Stanford      2             250.00

 TOTAL               $  6,255.79        $                 -

                                                Dept 1                 Dept 2
Sales >= 0 and <=300               2%                         3%
Sales >300 and <=500              3%                         5%
Sales >500 and <=1000               6%                         7%
Sales >1000                              7%                         8%

Then why the stories about helping your father, helping your sister, doing it for your company???

Your questions are like a textbook progression from a simple Vlookup to more complex scenarios. Vlookup with False parameter, Vlookup with TRUE parameter, adding two Vlookups with False parameter, adding two Vlookups with True parameter, etc....

If it's not homework, then come out with the complete picture, instead of feeding one question after the other and adding more and more criteria.

Post your workbook with the whole layout. Then we can give you the final formula in one go.

But I'm still convinced it's homework. The scenarios, the progression of complexity, the whole thing has homework written all over it.

If you have tried to apply what you have learned, but get an error: What is the formula you have tried? What is the error?

Show some respect for the people who are trying to help you and put in some effort, too. Post a file with what you have done so far.
