development of identifiers

i want within my form to have the user be able to select only one option button.  example:

{button} active
{button} suspended
{button} terminated
{button} leave of absence

The button would turn black when selected or active.  My goal is to have two boxes (current status and updating status):

1. Box for current status ( of the four options above and the current status is black)
2. Second box for updating status (user will be able to change status by clicking button in second box only)
3.  When you pull up agian, the first box will reflect the new status (or event).

OK, are you able to create an option group on the form?

Are your option groups bound controls, or unbound?

I'm going to say bound controls.  Its either on or off.  I used  the option group from the toolbox to create it.  Four radials down the side - only one can highlighted or selected.

A bound control is tied to a field in a table. When you update the control, you update the value in the table field. You can specify the table field name in the control's "ControlSource" property.

If that  is already set up, then what is it you need?

Ok, I really not sure.  Can you give me a step by step to bind the field?  its a radial selection - so it would be highilighted black if active, and grey if not.  Does that make sense?

You can use the control wizard to guide you through creating an option group step by step. In that process, you have the option to save the option group value in a table field.
