digital design course
I am going to take a class called digital design and I am trying to be prepared for it before I take that class. The book they are using is Digital Fund w/VHDL but you cannot really understand the topics covered without instructor's explanation.
So, I am looking for an online training source (paid or free) that would present the material visually. I search for that topic in vtc.com but I couldn't find anything close to it.
Thank you all,
Paul

there are afew files to be found if you google Digital Fund w/VHDL; but mostly torrents - not sure if that is ok..

Thanks, but I am more looking for a video training website and tutorials and I have no problem paying for it!

i could not find any - sorry
you can attract other experts by using "request attantion"

You might want to see if they offer a video of this course: http://www.xilinx.com/training/languages/designing-with-vhdl.htm

Thanks Callandor. Do you know any online sources that would provide instructions on the following objectives. These are in the syllabus of the class that I will register for. Im trying to get well prepared before taking this class:
Represent numbers in binary, octal, hexadecimal, and decimal number system.
Perform fundamental arithmetic operations with each number system.
Apply the Huntington postulates and theorems of boolean algebra to switching functions.
Apply Karnaugh maps for the simplification of switching expressions.
Implement switching circuits with SSI elements (AND gates, OR gates and inverters), MSI elements
(multiplexors, decoders, encoders), ROMs, PLAs.
Use synchronous sequential circuits with latches, master-slave, edge- triggered flipflops, and counters.
Design of synchronous sequential circuit by utilizing Mealy and Moore models for clocked sequential circuits,
state transition tables and diagrams, and simplifications techniques.
Define the concepts of asynchronous or fundamental-mode sequential circuits.
Develop algorithms for the control of shift registers, counters, and other register transfer-level components.
Thank you,
Paul
