Ok, thanks - i just worked out matching the port 1433 to the port of my SQL server (12415) gets me around that. Now im stuck with finding a user account that works!<br />

I'll guess and say ill create a user through SQL and then use them details.

Make sure the service is started. <br />
Try Run &quot;Cmd&quot; and &quot;telnet localhost 1433&quot; to make sure the service is using the correct port.

Hi All,<br />
Our old server died but luckily i had a backup of our servicedesk, I've tried to setup using SQL but i get the attached erorr when testing my setup.<br />
I've never really used SQL but checked that TCP/IP was enabled and also reentered my credentials so they are 100% correct. <br />
No firewall is turned on the machine and for testing i uninstalled the Anti Virus.<br />
<br />
Please help.<br />
