Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 - VSS Errors

I have this identical problem on 2 servers, in completely different sites (different customers)

Both running SBS2008, one Std and one Premium.

Historically they have been faultless and have never had any problems, with backup or otherwise.

Now each job fails with:

Backup- CAFSDC - AOFO: Initialization failure on: "C:". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).

Not sure how to fix this? A few searches point to AOFO but I dont see why it would work, then not work after no configuration changes on either server.

Both have been rebooted several times and are 100% up to date.
