SQL SERVER 2005 express

I have created an application for a customer using sql 2000, and I want to move the data to sql server 2005 express.  I have searched the world for DTS, or a third party piece of software that will move tables from one database to the new version, can't seem to find anything that works, destination system is a win partition on a MAC.  Am I barking up the wrong tree?  Should I insist on a wind 7 32 bit box for this app?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The zones that this was directed to were Microsoft Applications, SQL Server 2005, nothing to do with Crystal reports

Some additional information:

The application for the client is written in VB 6.0, data source - SQL Server 2005 express(intended),
done in SQL Server 2000, with several imbedded Crystal Reports several views, and several stored procedures.

have you tried / considered just detaching the database in sql 2000
taking a copy and then
attaching that in the sql 2005 express version?

hopefully it will be upgraded on the fly...

but you may wish to check the sql 2000 version thru the sql 2005 upgrade wizard first to see what issues (if any)
you have .... the change from 2000 to 2005 was "a big one" in several areas...

be prepared for a rigorous testing cycle...

does this help?

I actually created an odbc for 2005 on the desktop and used 200 DTS to transfer files from sql 2000 directly to 2005 express

Pointed me to a direct 2000 to 2005 connection, but only in a round about way.
