Can I Connect to Peachtree Accounting 2011 on a network using an IP address?

We have a Windows network with Peachtree 2011 residing on the Win2003 server. All the users in the office connect via a mapped drive.

We have a user at our corporate office who is not on our domain. Is there a way he can connect to our Peachtree? His IT department won't let him join our domain. (They are all on Unix so no Windows networking down there.)

he can still map a drive - just need to create a user account for him (domain account is fine) and then he can map the drive and specify the user account when he connects.

the user name will have to be entered each time they connect to the share, but it can work.

when they try to connect using Windows they should get a prompt and can enter DOMAIN\username with the password.
can also use command line:
net use k: \\server\share /USER:DOMAIN\username password
(that would be if you want to make it part of logon script for example)
