How do I move the MBR on a Server 2008 machine?
We setup a new server for a customer and installed Server 2008 on the system. We have a RAID1 setup for the OS, RAID5 for the DATA drives, and a single backup drive we use for Windows Server Backup. After moving the server onsite, 3 hours away, we found out a couple weeks later the power plug on the single drive was loose. We found out because the Backups failed, and after a restart the server would not find the OS. We sent a tech onsite to replace the hard drive, but when we secured the power plug and turned it on it worked like it should again.
So it would appear our MBR installed on the single backup drive, not the RAID1 drives with the OS. How can we move the MBR from a single drive (single point of failure) to the mirrored OS drives?

So I would take drive 2 of the mirror, and image the mbr drive to drive 2, then when I put drive 2 back in the mirror let it rebuild?
You can create the mirror then just image the mirror with the image

I'm sorry, but you have me confused, could you elaborate more? I already have a mirror configured and it has been up and running for months, so re-installation isn't a choice at this time. Your solution doesn't make sense to me, sorry.
Maybe I'm confused. You are saying that only one drive was setup in the mirror? Or the OS installed on a totally different drive then the mirror?

I have 5 drives:
0 - RAID1-OS
1 - RAID1-OS
2 - RAID1-DATA
3 - RAID1-DATA
4 - Single drive, used for backup <- Has MBR
For some reason the power plug wiggled loose on Drive 4 a few weeks ago and the server wouldn't boot after a restart. When we plugged the drive back in, then the server booted fine. Best we can tell the server installed the MBR on the single drive instead of the RAID1-OS drives. I need to move the MBR to Drive 0/1.

If you had the drives already in a mirror then the mbr is already on the other drive

Is there no way to move the MBR? I'm afraid that the single drive will fail and then I will be unable to boot the server.

There is no native way to copy the mbr you have restore a backup to the mirror set and\or use image software
