I have a user where I repaired first his Excel then un-installed and re-installed his office 2007 app and she still gets the error Excel signature Excel.exe AppVer. 12.0.6425A1000, AppStamp 49dC64dd6, Mod. Ver. This happens every time she closes an app in Excel? This is an XP pro OS. Office 2007. I have re-installed and still getting an error.I have run the repair as well. Not sure what the error message means.

Let's check to see if there are any missing reference libraries.  Can you open Excel on that machine, then go to the VBE editor (Alt-F11), then Tools->References and advise if any references are checked that say "missing"

Also, here's a step-by-step for things to check with respect to startup problems (may also apply to close/quit problems):

You might also ensure all the hotfixes for your version of Excel are currently in place, re: due to your recent upgrade/reinstall.  Go to Office Update and check - alternatively (if you can't get update to run) you can download Office 2007 SP2 with all updates here:
