Generally what is kept in sysvold is outlined here

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324175

Net Logon shares. These typically host logon scripts and policy objects for network client computers.
User logon scripts for domains where the administrator uses Active Directory Users and Computers.
Windows Group Policy.
File replication service (FRS) staging folder and files that must be available and synchronized between domain controllers.
File system junctions.

DFS files and directories are separate

Having said that if you have 30 minutes of so listen to this runas radio with Ned Pyle from Microsoft   http://www.runasradio.com/default.aspx?showNum=190  He describes some interesting scenarios where people put a lot of data in sysvol (not recommended)

Thanks

Mike

thanks MK.  the DFS files and directories are on different servers but is the namespace info kept in SysVol? Do domain controllers house any DFS info?
