Can't install Retail versions of Office 2010 Apps on RDS enviroment

I am looking to migrate a few copies of Office 2010 apps to our RDS enviromnent (server 2008 R2), but you cannot install the retail version on an RDS environment. Only Volume Licences.

Is there any way to change the licence type? or do we have to purchase volume licences.

You have to het the volume license key.

I realise that, but can Microsoft change the key type?
Unfortunately, no - or not exactly.
But follow me on this (and read between the lines).

XYZ Company purchases a single volume license of Office 2010 to test and install.

After running the test, XYZ Co then purchases 100 volume licenses, and gets a second key, but the installer tech already built an install using the key that supports a single deployment.

This type of scenario is why MS Created Volume license keys.  You have to be eligible to get them, and from there it is largely an honor system.  If you were to have an audit, and you were to have sufficient licenses to cover the instances in use, then you are okay.

OR you could purchase all new keys...
