Hi, I could not Register phone (status = Registration failed),manual  I.P is set & I could download and update latest firmware..etc. attach console images.

For more info., registration may not be possible because its block by internet service provider, any suggestions or methods to bypass with different setting so that registration is possible.

I am using ADSL internet router (no firewall).

What are you trying to register to? The screen shot shows failed registration to gigaset.net which, I assume, is a service operated by Siemens to allow one gigaset phone to call another. If that is what you want, I can't really help you and if the 5060 port is blocked by your ISP then there is nothing you can do because gigaset.net would operate on a fixed port.

If you want to register with an asterisk server or IP-PBX, you need to click the Edit button next to IP1 on the Connections list and then enter some details in the IP Connection form. In that form, you must click "Show Advanced Settings" because it then shows you the fields where you must enter the IP address of the Asterisk server or IP-PBX - you need to put the address into "Domain", "Proxy server address" and "Registration server". Put the extension number into the fields "Authentication name" and "Username".
gigaset.net is only for making calls between other gigaset phone users. Its just a extra free service they offer.

What are you actually trying to do?
Creating an account with a proper voip provider may be your best approach and ask them if its possible to connect via sip to a port other than 5060 as this would avoid a lot of port blocking some isps may be doing. Most voip providers will allow you to setup an account free of charge but you can normally add credit to your account so you can use the service to make calls to landlines aswell which you cant do with gigaset.net I believe.

Feptias,
Thanks for response.
Yes, I am trying to register to gigaset.net so that I can use one gigaset phone to another.
Do you thing gigaset.net will only register on 5060 port ?

Grblades,
Thanks for response.
I posses two A580Ip sets ( 2 different location) want to use free voip service via gigaset.net.

-> I am not sure gigaset.net will only work on fix port ( need confirm info.).
-> Setting is set to ' Use Ramdon port = Yes'. and result still is = registration fail..
Does that mean gigaset is on fix port ?

-> If "NO" whats the alternate port range I can try ?

Thanks.

You can only use an alternative port if the voip provider at the other end has their system configured to allow it.
Hence why you will probably need to find another voip provider you can register the phone with which have alternative ports you can use.
Grblades,
I was keen to use this because its free and I have two Siemens sets, I don't mind using different VOIP provider if its free.

-> One of the Siemens support  link was advising different port range for this problem, I could not recollect that link.
so I am sure its not fix port.
The service providers port is not affected by settings like "Use Random Port". It just controls the local port used by the IP phone.
There are lots of voip providers. The majority dont charge for creating accounts or sending calls between SIP phones. They just hope that after you have used their service and found the call quality to be fine you will start using them for making regular phone calls aswell.
No nothing there would help you.
How sure are you that your ISP is blocking port 5060? Is it possible that the problem is something else, such as NAT or a firewall issue? If so, then enabling STUN - or some of the other advice in those links - could be relevant.

I very recently set up a Gigaset IP phone for a customer, but then I sent it to him and no longer have access. This means I cannot see if there are options for enabling STUN on the gigaset.net service. There was definitely a STUN option on the ordinary IP accounts and by default it was not enabled.
Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) - FAQ

Question : Does the TRA block VoIP Traffic running on the Internet or websites offering such VoIP services?

The TRA does not block VoIP traffic or protocols. However, as per the VoIP Policy ver. 2.0, the Licensees have the right to block illegal VoIP traffic If it is believed that legitimate traffic is being blocked, the customer may raise the issue with the Licensee directly.

I have tried enabling STUN, no luck.
&
I am not behind any firewall (hardware or software).
Feptias , if you are getting any hand on chance on gigaset device again...I can wait for your advice.
If you are not behind any firewall, I am interested to know what your network environment is. It would be very unusual to connect a phone directly to the Internet. Are you sure the phone is connected to the Internet correctly and that is has acquired a valid IP address?

Are you able to capture the SIP packets that are coming from and going to the phone? For example, using wireshark.

Unfortunately, I am unlikely to have access to a Gigaset again in the foreseeable future.
Its ADSL internet connection,  Cable connection from router to Gigaset unit connected.
Proof of internet working on phone is I updated firmware.

How do I check SIP packets that are coming and going....not sure how to use wireshark.
If it is ADSL then you almmost certainly have NAT. What IP address does the phone have? Is it 192.168.x.y or 10.x.y.z?
Yes, NAT option is available.
Router set on manual I.P range 140.150.160.x  to 140.150.160.255.
I.P phone on 140.150.160.8.
It is quite difficult to use wireshark in your situation because it looks like you have the ADSL modem operating in bridged mode. However, that is good for VoIP because NAT generally makes VoIP more difficult and less reliable.

I'm not sure what to suggest next. Here are some ideas:
1. Have you logged into the gigaset.net web portal? Perhaps you have to activate the account or register your product before gigaset.net will allow your phone to register. You can find the connection and account details on the "Info Services" tab under Settings.
2. Consider trying what grblades suggested. i.e. sign up for a free account with a VoIP service provider, set up the IP1 account on the phone for that provider account and see if it can register.
3. Contact Siemens support and ask their advice
Feptias,
I am in touch with gigaset support, let see.
Thanks.
