php mysql table create and edit class

Hi,

I'm wondering what PHP classes there are that will allow me to simply display a table and as it is in MySQL. For example, if I have a table like:

CREATE TABLE test_medicaidbook.visitor_medicaidbook(
  visitor_mb_id INT(11) UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
  visitor_first_name VARCHAR(255) DEFAULT NULL,
  visitor_email YEAR(4) DEFAULT NULL,
  visitor_phone VARCHAR(255) DEFAULT NULL,
  id VARCHAR(255) DEFAULT NULL COMMENT 'Unique id autogenerated (7 chars)',
  affid VARCHAR(255) DEFAULT NULL,
  subid VARCHAR(255) DEFAULT NULL,
  http_referer TEXT DEFAULT NULL,
  http_user_agent TEXT DEFAULT NULL,
  get_browser TEXT DEFAULT NULL,
  remote_addr VARCHAR(255) DEFAULT NULL,
  `time` INT(11) UNSIGNED DEFAULT NULL,
  PRIMARY KEY (visitor_mb_id)
)
ENGINE = MYISAM
AUTO_INCREMENT = 1
CHARACTER SET utf8
COLLATE utf8_general_ci;

Open in new window

Then I want to display the headers of the table fieldnames and the data in rows like it is in the table.

It would be nice if the class can do edits to the table but that's not necessary right now. Any PHP classes that are good?

Thank you,
Victor

This is a useful resource of classes. Look in the database section.

You might be able to do a lot of what you need with phpMyAdmin.

Take a look at http://www.phpmyedit.org, which allows you to edit the database from the table as well.

Hope this helps :)

Hi MunterMan,

Thanks for the link. I know about the site. I was hoping someone would recommend one that they've used. There are so many and to test them would take me a long time. Hoping to save myself sometime.

Hi Ray_Paseur,

I'm creating a login system so the owners can only view it. I don't want to send them to a PHPMyAdmin.

Hi happysunny,

Good program - it looks like. I like the features but a bit expensive for me. I'm looking for a PHP/MySQL class that I'll be able to use quickly.

Any suggestions. The one happysunny recommended is basically what I wish to do but I'm going to use it so some people can logon and view the data.

Thank you,
Victor

I see you still haven't solved this issue. I don't know of any specific classes that can do what you ask as a class is not going to know your exact setup of your mysql tables. A class can be easily written to suit tables but I guess if you could show exactly what you want to display then we could help you?

Sounds to me like you need a basic CMS (Content Management System) which is easy to write or you could just have a basic HTML table that displays all the data and headers that are in your mysql tables. It won't be hard to do. If you still need some help then supply the table or tables that you need to display and let's see if we can give you some help ok.

If I just want to display the tables and not change them, I use this:

Hi,

xataface.com is probably what I'm looking for. I haven't tested it yet but it states it's open source. The micro db browser is interesting and I downloaded it. Thank you all for your responses. =)

Kind regards,
Victor
