Vmware ESXi vs XenServer

I'm have about 8 ESX / ESXi servers running 4.1 all using local storage and use vcenter to manage all of them. I do have a small xenserver enviroment that host my Citrix XenApp server only. My manager has noted that our support cose of vmware are going up and up. They have also noted that our XenServer Advanced Edition is much cheaper.

Here are my questions.
1) What are the pro's and con's of ESX/ESXi vs XenServer

2) What can I do in Vmware that I cannot do in XenServer

3) How easlly can server beconvertered from Physical to virutal, moved cloned renamed?

4) What about patching? How good or bad is XenServer at patch itself and VM's

If you manager wants to cut your costs Citrix XenServer is much cheaper.

P2V using Citrix XenServer is just as easy as VMware P2V.
