Vsphere5 ESXi and two SCSI devices on same HBA
Would like to have two Ultrium SCSI tape drives available on VMware at the same time.
I say at the same time as I can have either working but only one at a time.
Both devices are on the same HBA (a LSILogic card) - the 448 tape device has a SCSI Id of 10, the 1760 device has a SCSI ID of 11. Of course i can change the SCSI Id's to suit - vmware only displays the lower SCSI ID.
To allow Vmware to detect the device in the first place i had to run the "esxcli storage nmp satp rule add --satp=VMW_SATP_LOCAL --driver="mptsas" " command.
I suspect that I need to add something else to this config to detect all attached devices.
Any help greatly appreciated.
I realise that tape devices in a vmware are not recommended for a production environment - this is my customers Business continuity environment and would like it to function as a cut down version of their live setup
