Is anything Beta (sp or owa) on the machine, or has it ever been?  Is this a domain controller?  Is this a farm install?

1. Nope new installation with valid registration key
2 No is not the domain controller
3. Is a single server install

Have you tried running the wizard more than once? Sometimes multiple runs clears the issue.

Yes and it hungs in the 8 th task at 10%. Even after reinstalling sharepoint. Sharepoint launches but we are not able to create any service accounts.
