Dynamic Parameter List limited to 20 items and should show 50

I have run into this a few times and did some internet research but have not found a solution that works.

I have a dynamic parameter or cascading dynamic parameter that should have say 50 entries but only 20 show up. I have found a few solutions that say change a registry entry but so far none of them have worked.

Do you have any possible solutions to get all the values to show in the list.

So far my solution has been using DatalinkViewer from Millet software where a parameter (named the same as a report in the same location) can be a report that lists all the entries. Since we are moving to Crystal server where the reports are going to be on the server for people to run from crystal instead of DatalinkViewer I want to find a solution. In my research I found that the same issue is still there in CR2008.

Are you upgrading to Crystal reports server because of the limitations of the viewer or you want to change the network access ( for example to  give web access ) ?

THe limit in the registry is usually by default 1000 so 20 doesn't approach that value.

What is the SQL the report uses?

Is the issue on the first parameter value?

There's a known issue with Crystal Reports XI/XI R2 where Dynamic Cascading Parameters don't correctly pull in all of the values if you're allowing multiple value selection. It basically pertains to how Crystal fails to loop back through (for lack of a better term) the list of selected values in order to query the values that should be returned.

I have a sample report I created while on the phone with SAP Support that uses the Xtreme Sample Database.  It has 4 multi-value cascading levels and a single value final value.  In Crystal Reports XI R2, the final value only displays a single value to pick, even though there should be over 30.  In Crystal Reports 2008, I see all of the values as I should.

Unfortunately, this issue wasn't ever resolved in Crystal Reports XI R2, to the best of my knowledge.  There was a fix pack, but it was for the Business View Manager, which is part of BusinessObjects Enterprise and my customer didn't have Enterprise - just Crystal Reports.  As such, the fix pack wasn't any good to them.  Thankfully, this issue seems to have been resolved in newer versions of Crystal Reports.
