Server 2008 R2 Media
Can you purchase Server 2008 R2 standard edition media from cdw and get media only. This is needed for a dell server using windows backup and the media is needed for recovery. The customer has a backup to a external drive but no recovery media
If the customer has volume licensing, then you can download the media (ISO images) and burn the DVDs directly or you can purchase the volume license media from CDW.

Customer does not have volume licensing and what we need it for is the customer is using windows backup to external usb hard drive and needs it for recovery media.
If I download the trial ISO from microsoft can I use that just fine for recovery purposes? I would think it would be the same content as the physical media you buy when getting retail boxed ?

The trial will work for 180 days without a product key. As long as the customer has a valid product key, this should work. If not, you should be able to contact Dell to get recovery discs for the server.
Hope this helps.
