How many recipients can I send to from Outlook
Hi experts
I want to send out a brief weekly newsletter to my customers. The recipient list would be about 100.
I was once told that you shouldn't send lots of emails via Outlook as it clogs up your email and it can be seen as Junk Mail by other mail servers. Is there any truth in that, or is it hold school thinking?? Will I be okay to send my 100 emails from Outlook. I was plannig to set up a newsletter template in Word and then send it as the body of the email.

It really depends the settings of the company's Exchange server. By default the maximum should be between 130-150 recipients so you should not have problems sending out mail to such group of people.
also - make sure you put the recipients in BCC so they cant see each other.
alternatively you could use mail merge in word to send one at a time and customise the email.

There is no limit in outlook for amount of addresses. You can send many recipients. You need ot check with administrators or service providers to know about the limits.

Use some kind of massmailing software. For example, free Send Messages Personally.
I agree with all that tell you to use a mass mailing service like constant contact. Here are a few reasons:
- Rules for mass mailing include a "must have" opt-out option; constant contact and the likes help you with keeping track of such requests
- Professional looking templates which help you in the "mail merge" process
Personally, I use EXCERTA.COM's services:
http://www.securepaynet.net/business/email-marketing.aspx?ci=42404&prog_id=excertacom
it's only about $12/mth for 1000 emails, and never had issues with it! 24X7 support and friendly staff.
