Hi

Please could someone comment on whether a HP ProLiant Turion II N40L MicroServer would run SBS 2011 with Exchange 2011 and the domain controller, we would upgrade the RAM to 8GB.  Would this be enough to run 10-12 users?

There would be a seperate file server.

It of course would be enough to power 10 to 12 users but your processes may run a bit high and be careful with dns caching.  Hard drive space may be just as important too if you are going to do roaming desktops or anything.

I'd get more RAM. 8GB is the minimum recommended for SBS 2011.

Would a i5 or i7 be better as the above is very limited for future expansion.

I am thinking of the following spec now;

i5 2500k
16GB RAM
Raid 1 for O/S - 2x 500GB Drives
Raid 5 for Data - 3x 1TB Drives

Would that suffice for 10-15 users?

You can't really compare the Turion II N40L with i5 or i7's. But the specs you have above are fine, maybe this time overkill, though.
