Using 4G as a backup WAN to our 5M T1

Has anyone used 4G as a backup or a primary WAN connection in a location? We have 5M T1 WAN, but i'm thinking of using 4G from Sprint by purcahsing $49/month hotspot as a backup.

If I want to do this, what kind of router or a device do I need to connect between our firewall and the hotspot?

Generally people use a router with dual wan failover and load balancing. Examples of this are the sonicwall tz series, what I prefer, linkage/cisco rv082, and netgear utm series. The sonicwall even has a USB port for attaching a 3G/4g USB modem exactly for this purpose.
