Android full backup possible?

Hi

I have an Android 10 inch Flytouch 3 (I think it's a Superpad III clone), no matter.

Anyway, what is the best way of doing a backup so that if I have to do a full factory reset I can easily restore everything back again including apps, etc ?

you can use nandroid as suggested here.

What is root and how do I gain root access ?

A root access is a Unix term similar to Administrator in Windows. Having root access means you have access to all system directories in your device. If you need full system backup then you definitely need root access so that the app could access the entire file system. Otherwise, if you only need backup of apps without data (e.g. high scores etc.) then you can find many backup apps on the market. You can also access your market account https://market.android.com/account and see all the apps you have downloaded and allow you to download them again.
