VTP
VTP transparent switches do not participate in VTP. A VTP transparent switch does not advertise its VLAN configuration and does not synchronize its VLAN configuration based on received advertisements. However, in VTP Version 2, transparent switches do forward VTP advertisements that they receive from other switches through their trunk interfaces. You can create, modify, and delete VLAN’s on a switch in VTP transparent mode
Interestingly, and I shall test it shortly, on some study material I reviewed a while back one of the instructors stated that VTP Version 1 did actually pass on the advertisement if the switch was in Transparent mode.

So basically what should we used VTP Transparent version 1 or version 2 and then why ?
VTP V2 has support for Token Ring VLANs. If you don't have Token ring then use V1.
VTP mode transparent switches will pass VTP advertisements. I know Cisco switches do, but only if configured for the same VTP domain.

I have always heared the name of Token Ring. What exactly it is how should i make sure that if i can use the VTP Transparent V2 or not.
As you said above VTP mode transparent switches will pass VTP advertisements. If configured the same VTP domain. That means i need not to configure the Vlan manually if i am using the VTP V1 if configured with the same VTP domain.

A search on Cisco's web site for "understanding vtp version 2" gives several references and explains the differences between version 1 and version 2.

You shouldn't have any issues with VTP through transparent switches in either version - just note that version 1 device will only pass advertisements if they are the same VTP domain and version as itself.

Please correct if i am wrong.
1) only in VTP version 2 cisco device will pass the VTP advertisements. That the Vlan information and we need not to manually configure the vlans manually on each switch the condition is that VTP domain name should be the same. While in VTP version 1 it not possible at all.
Please let me know in yes or no. Not sure if i am correct.

No.
A VTP version 1 device *will* pass VTP advertisements as long as they contain the same VTP domain name and VTP version number as the device.

So the only difference is VTP v2 supports token ring while VTP v1 not.

By the way, VTP wouldnt be very effective if transparent switches blocked VTP advertisements.
