Does renaming a PC change the SID ?

Simple question, no cloing involved.  If a PC on a domain gets renamed does the SID get changed automatically and if not is it an issue ?

Renaming a PC does not change the SID.

If you are cloning the PCs, they must run Sysprep either as part of the imaging process or after the new clone is created.  You can also use a third party tool called NewSID to recreate a new SID BEFORE you join the domain.  Simply renaming the PC whether it's on or off a domain does NOT recreate a unique machine SID.
