Say, I've 35 PC's on network.
Does each machine have to download its updates over internet or can we setup an automatic repository of sorts?

Also will wsus download the update once and deploy accross each of the machines? The idea here is to reduce bandwidth consumption and not only manage the updates on each pc...

Is there a wsus for Win2003 server? Whats the link and will it update Winxp?
WSUS must be installed on a server OS & part of WSUS magic is, it only pushes out updates to clients when bandwidth is not an issue. WSUS will also push out Windows Updates to ALL Microsoft OS & Office products. Yes, WSS will be the only server in your domain/network that reaches out to Microsoft & downloads the update. Then it is up to you what & when the updates get pushed to clients.
