It's likely some administrator removed them, either on purpose or on accident.  Another possibility is that an authoritative restore of AD was done to some point prior to those machines having been added to AD.

In either case, removing/re-adding the machines to AD should make the problem go away.

Solution 1:
Goto Active Directory Users and Computers and delete the device account and re-add it again. After that, goto the device and change its domain membership to a workgroup membership. Next, reboot the device and re-join the domain.

Solutions 2:
On a domain controller, use the following command to reset the computer account:
NETDOM.exe RESET DBSERVER1 /domain:Contoso /UserO:Administrator /PasswordO:*

Thank you both for your comments.  The solutions provided is what we do.  I was hopeing to find out why it happens and perhaps stop it from happening.  We give laptops to kids so we have a large domain of close to 38000 PCs.  We get maybe 10 PCs a day that gets kicked off the network.  A lot of time the kids do not know to come to the office and get rejoined to the domain so homework is late and study is delayed.  Often the problem is not discovered till it is time to take an online test.  The teacher then has to stop teaching to help the one kid which is not productive and disrupts classroom flow.  If you think of something please throw me a bone.  Thanks for your time.
