Can not uninstall program after currupted installation.

I was trying to install a program on my PC, when it crashed towards the end of the installation.

The folder structure has been created, as well as folders in it, how ever I cannot run it has it says it has been installed. I can't uninstal it from add/remove programs because it does appear in the list.

Have tried reinstalling it but it claims that it is already installed, have tried deleting the files but I get access denied.

Is there a manual way to uninstall it it?

I am running Windows 7 32 bit

Cheers

It probably added some registry settings to your computer, which you will need to delete.  Depends on the program, where it stores, but here are some things to try:

Open registry editor (run regedit.exe).
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and delete the software name
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and delete the software name
Do a search for the program name and the folder it installed it to (I.e. C:\Program Files\ApplicationX) and delete all entries.

It might be helpful to know what application you are trying to install as someone might know specifics for that application.

The program is CIsco VPN Client, it won't let me delete the folder in "Program Files" says I don't have permission.

1st try to use microsoft cleanup tool: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
If for some reason it didn't fixed the problem, try to remove the reg key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{5624C000-B109-11D4-9DB4-00E0290FCAC5} and reinstall the software.

Good luck!
1. You will need to logon as an user with administrative privileges.
2. Cisco also installs drivers, so you will have to open device Manager (Right Click My Computer\Manage Computer and click device manager), click + by Network Adapters and delete Cisco Systems VPN Adapter.
3. Then you can delete the Program Files
4. Then open registry editor (run regedit.exe) and Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and delete the keys "Cisco Systems" and/or "Cisco Systems, Inc."  You may also want to do a search Cisco or VPN and delete all entries.
5. Reboot your PC and reinstall.

I tried the Microsoft clean up tool, Cisco does not come up in the list, also that uninstall bit of registry isn't there.

Still can not delete the program files, it says I need permission from "SYSTEM".

Look like a OS reinstall is needed.
