Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server

I have four Exchange 2010 SP1 RU5 HT servers that I installed Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server on. I found Kaspersky Antivirus was not updating so I found Update Rollup-3 for Forefront and applied it to all servers. This fixed the issue on two of the four servers.

On the two that will not update I reinstalled Forefront, as well as tried a few fixed off of Google related to changing the Kaspersky engine not updating from v5 to v8. Nothing has worked. For some reason I cannot get these two to update Kaspersky. Ideas?

on the two server delete the Kaspersky folder under DRIVE:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront Protection for Exchange Server\Data\Engines\amd64 and x86

or just delete everything under Engines and restart the FSE service...open the app and choose download def files again.

Sorry I am late in replying. I attempted to delete everythign under DRIVE:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront Protection for Exchange Server\Data\Engines and the restarte the FSE service, but this did not work to allow definitions to update.

No problem...did you wait for a period of time between the delete and restart of the service?    Also did the folder system repopulate/recreate when you restarted the service.

Process worked, but the first response did not indicate there was a wait period between file deletion and restarting of the service.
