Query-based Distribution Group Exchange 2003 vs 2010

I am upgrading my network from Exchange 2003 to 2010. I notice that on my Win 7 client and the Exchange 2010 when I check my Query-based Distribution Groups they are missing an icon and I when I access their properties I only get the one basic 'Managed by' properties sheet.

Anyone know what going on here? and how to fix or change? I am concerned that I will need to recreate all QBDG when I take the 2003 server offline.

I THINK YOU'LL HAVE TO UPGRADE YOUR GROUPS :

SET-DYNAMICDISTRIBUTIONGROUP GROUPNAME -FORCEUPGRADE

After doing the update as suggested by seb acker, follow my article to update your GAL: Manually Update Global Address List (GAL) on Exchange 2010

Cheers!!!

When I try this the command isnt accepted as the group name has spaces in it ie: 'Central Level 2'. If I try to use inverted commas to encapsulate it doesn't accept either...how to format?

So you have tried it like this?:
Set-DynamicDistributionGroup "Central Level 2" -Forceupgrade

Or : get-DynamicDistributionGroup | set-DynamicDistributionGroup -forceupgrade

yep here is the result:

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Set-DynamicDistributionGroup "Central Level 2" -Forceupgrade
Property expression "Central Level 2" isn't valid. Valid values are: Strings formed with characters from A to Z (upperc
ase or lowercase), digits from 0 to 9, !, #, $, %, &, ', *, +, -, /, =, ?, ^, _, `, {, |, } or ~. One or more periods m
ay be embedded in an alias, but each period should be preceded and followed by at least one of the other characters. Un
icode characters from U+00A1 to U+00FF are also valid in an alias, but they will be mapped to a best-fit US-ASCII strin
g in the e-mail address, which is generated from such an alias.

You will have to edit the Central 2 goup, and remove any space or special character from the alias, before launching the command again

Thanks for that. This does indeed seem to be the solution. When I access the QBDG properties in Exch 2003 they are OK but in Exch 2010, I get the errors relating to the Aliases.

Once I removed the spaces, all was well.

Thanks.
