Hi, I have a customer who upgraded 4 of his Snow Leopard based iMacs and Macbooks to OS Lion. All of the programs except for Mail are working. The mail app crashes 3-4 times per day on all but one computer and we can't figure out why. I've attached copies of crash logs from two of the computers.

Any ideas? I searched all over and found a lot of people are having this issue with no clear answer.

Thanks,

Scott

Do you have Letteropener installed? If so, update it and see if that fixes the issue
I would begin by making sure all non apple software installed is updated to a lion compatible state.

I would then run Disk Utility and repair the disk permissions,

Let me know if that doesn't solve the issue.

Have you tried this?

If this has helped please select yes.

Thank you,

We tried Disk Utilities on the one computer and it seems to be working. One of the others the owner just got fed up and reinstalled the whole thing from scratch (painful for sure) but he's up and running just fine now. I'm going to try the disk permissions on the others and post back here soon.

Sorry for the delay - this particular customer is kind of slow to respond to fixes.

Update: running updates and repairing disk permissions worked mostly but the app still crashes on ALL of the computers that were upgraded from OS X to Lion are still crashing. The iCal app is now crashing too.

I'm really close to just having to wipe 6 machines and reinstall them.
