Hello. I use JavaScript to open an aspx- page as a pop-up -window. Submit button closes the window.  Problem: I would also like to show messagebox (JavaScript alert?), but page does not exist. What would be best way to solve this problem?

Assuming you're using SharePoint 2010, I'd assign a callback function in the javascript that opens the popup, and raise a notification in there using SP.UI.Notify.addNotification()
