How to monitor CPU utilization for multiple instances

Hello All,

how to monitor individual CPU utilization by each sql instance on single server as I have 3 sql instances on my server and 2 are sql 2005 and one is sql 2008 instance on widows 2003 server?

Each has it's own servoce. The built-in taskmanager can view resources per service I think. I know server 08 can...

I'm talking from server point of view, from task manager or perfmon.

Right. Each SQL instance should get a named service. I'm just not 100% if server 2003 shows CPU utilization per service but I think it does.

Thanks, but under windows 2003 server

Task Manger/Processes/Image name tab

it shows the same name (sqlservr.exe) for both instances.

so not able to identify which once is for whatinstqance.

The first should be Mssqlserver and the others should be mssqlserver$instancename
