Formatting wordpress sidebar

Marisa

If you look at the custom Wordpress theme I made to match my site, the sidebar looks horrible. I know it is just pulling styles from my stylesheet, and on the rest of the site, these styles look good--just not for the sidebar.

Is the a way I can give the sidebar it's own styles without the external stylesheet overwriting them?

The easiest thing you can do is declare your CSS like this:
#primary ul{ } /*this gives you the sidebar container */

Then you can just drill down from there.

I'm not quite sure I understand where that code goes? In my css file or in sidebar.php? If it does go in my css file then do I assign a class to something in the sidebar.php file? Sorry.

It does go right in your CSS file. You can add a class or another ID to your sidebar. However, your sidebar container is already assigned the id primary.
