Excel crashing

I have reinstalled office after the last issue with Excel crashing and after I ran a repair. I then went back in and removed the templates and re-started Excel and it worked fine for 3 days and is crashing again.

Watch Question

Couple of questions or ideas to try.

1. Did you rename the file "Normal.dot"? If not, this is the template file for Word (winword). Rename this file and test again (it may be corrupt).

2. Have you changed printers recently? You might want to test by changing the default printer and see if you get the same error.

3. Do you have "Cisco Security Agent" installed?

4. This can also be spyware. Do a search for that file and post the directory where the file(s) are found.

You say Excel is crashing, but that's a Word fault report?

In a readable format:

Application Failure winword.exe
12065455000 4c653e57
in csauser.dll
520263 48 494897 f
Debug 0 at offset 000031 ba

So your problem is your Csauser.dll.  and word is causing the crash not Excel.

So the solution is going to be to figure out what uses Cicso, likely a network card, and reinstall it using the latest drivers downloaded from the cisco website here:

If winword.exe is in system32 folder then it is a malware, right-click the process and open the file location to be sure.

My bad, it is word. I had a similar question on Excel. Thanks. We do use CSA. I will try the above fixes to see what happens.
As a test - you can rename csauser.dll. This file is used by the Cisco Security Agent which is referenced in my questions above. After renaming this file - test Winword again. See if you get the same error.

I will give this a try as well.

Thanks. It worked. It was the CSAuser.dll. Re-naming it helped. I had to use a boot disk to get into the laptop so I could disable
