Also, have you upgraded the chipset (motherboard) drivers since the upgrade?

I have a dell m1530 that has been upgrade from xp 64 to win 7 64. &nbsp;Bios A12<br />

Teac dvd+- dvw28slc ata (slotload) not showing up and in device manager I'm getting this error:<br />

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. &nbsp;The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).<br />

I'v googled it and found a fix that requires a registry edit. &nbsp;No problem but... the folder <br />
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -&gt; SYSTEM-&gt; CurrentControlSet-&gt; Control-&gt; Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-0<wbr />8002BE1031<wbr />8} &nbsp;appears 5 times in the registry.<br />

When I remove the upper/lower filter entries the machine won't start. &nbsp;What would you do next?<br />
