Dell Teac DVD problem

Hi Experts,

I have a dell m1530 that has been upgrade from xp 64 to win 7 64.  Bios A12

Teac dvd+- dvw28slc ata (slotload) not showing up and in device manager I'm getting this error:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.  The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).

I'v googled it and found a fix that requires a registry edit.  No problem but... the folder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM-> CurrentControlSet-> Control-> Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}  appears 5 times in the registry.

When I remove the upper/lower filter entries the machine won't start.  What would you do next?

I can't find drivers for this drive and the dell site doesn't have any driver for it.

Thanks,

HNM

Before you make Registry entries I would suggest that you export the current Registry for safety precautions.
Also, have you upgraded the chipset (motherboard) drivers since the upgrade?
