Speed of Installation on Factory Restore DVD or Image Restore for HP Computer

I am re-installing the DVD to re-image an entire computer with the HP System Recovery.  I was wondering if it would be faster to install the entire computer with the installation DVDs or the image that is located in the 2nd Partitition of the internal hard drive.  I would think it would be faster on the DVD re-imaging since it does not need to use the internal hard drive.  But, on the other hand, hard drives are faster.  Does anyone have a lot experience on installing 100's of these factory images or was on a roll-out team related to imaging hard drives?

alu2f--Are you sure the HP System Recovery disk will not wipe all your personal data and installed programs--taking the hard drive back to "delivered from the factory" status?

I assume the system image on the internal hard drive is one you made and preserves your data.

I am sorry if I did not make this clear.  I was just performing a system restore on on HP TouchScreen 610 All-in-One computer.  I was not sure if the DVD or hard drive would be faster to install since the factory restore partition in on the same drive and the main or boot partition.
As I mentioned, the HD based recovery is faster.
