But to do what? Fly drones? Exchange money? Create Facebook? If the latter is the case, choose PHP, because Facebook is a PHP machine.

For now we just want EE to confirm our list. We don't want to enter in details yet.
So in your opinion does all in the list can write/update/delete to a database oro a file within the sites is being developed? and also, what other that may be missing from the list?

I'm sorry but without knowing what you're trying to do, your list is meaningless. I guess you didn't read my post above. Or did it just not make any sense to you?

Dave we read your post and it does make great sense to us. We just want to know what language, page description language, methods (all these from your post), etc. are most commonly used for accessing databases or output data to files.
In your post, ID: 37091740, you say "That list is not helping you. All of those things work together to make use of databases". With this, you already confirmed part of our question. What we want to know is if there others that should be included in that list that makes use of databases.
We have various purposes for the list and one of them is for a group of junior programmers we have. We want to give them the list, choose from them, learn them and make us a simple data-access web apps.

For now what we are trying to prepare is a list of web languages mostly used in web development to write/update/delete to a database within the site. We don't want all, just the mostly used. For this we direct ourselves to EE experience.
What we have up-to know is the following:
- AJAX
- CGI
- ASP
- PHP
- HTML
- JAVA
Are these listed correct?
Are there more most commonly used?
