ESXi 5.0 upgrade from 4.1, duplicates in auto startup

I just finished upgrading my ESXi 4.1 server to 5.0.  Everything went very well and I'm having zero issues with the VMs.  However I now have a bizarre issue that bugs me.

When my VMs auto start after rebooting ESXi (not in maintenance mode) they attempt to start multiple times.  When I first click on "Configuration" then "Virtual Machine Startup/Shutdown", the list looks normal.  After I made a few changes to the order I now have duplicates and triplicates in the list.  I've also noticed in the "Recent Tasks" section that ESXi is indeed trying to start them multiple times.  Of course they error out and no harm is done but I really would like that to go away.

Thoughts?  Suggestions?  I've tried disabling the automatic startup/shutdown, rebooting, then re-enabling it with the same issue.  I've tried changing the order many different ways.  Still left with dupes and trips.

I'm not afraid of ssh so if it's a cli solution I'm all for trying it.  I just can't seem to find ANY info for it on vmware's site/forums or googling around.
