ivanoviola:
I have not seen it happen again.
I needed to click on the word "post' top right, and I could not, because it was covered up by the duplicate tool bar.

Since removing IE and removing all Adobe products to solve other issues, and re-installing IE, Adobe and Adobe de-bugger, (all of which occurred 2-3 weeks ago)
I have had intermittant "events" which I have never had before.
See my other thread about errors with Firefox for one of them.

Watchful waiting right now on the same event.

Ah Ha, it happened again out of nowhere.

I can not use both of them, only the lower one.

I can not do anything with the top tool bar.
I know this is not a fix but I would like to see if the problem occurs after doing the following:

Let's move the Menu Bar to the top of Internet Explorer 9.

Open Regedit
Navigate to the following location:  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser
Right-Click WebBrowser select New then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Name this value ITBar7Position and set its value to 1

Now when you open Internet Explorer 9 the Menu Bar will be above the Search Box. To remove, either set the value to 0 or remove the ITBar7Position value.

The above is from the following website:
http://www.thewindowsclub.com/tips-tricks-tweaks-for-internet-explorer-9

Again, I know this is not a fix but it may stop the problem from occurring. I also read when you get the double toolbar problem, right-click hide and unhide brings the toolbar back to normal.

Let me know how it goes.

"right-click hide and unhide brings the toolbar back to normal."

I am not getting, hide and unhide.
Right click beside "help" gets me the choices:
menu bar and lock the tool bars, are checked.
favorites bar, command bar, status bar, and show tabs on a separate row are not checked.

The bar I am referring to is file/edit/view/favorites/tools/help.

That link above, shows another tool bar and I do not want any of that.

It is a very intermittant problem, the double tool bar, where the one on the top, so to speak, will work, and the one below the surface, so to speak, does not work.

Im my image, the one covering up the word Craigslist is the one on "top" and it works. The one above that, that appears as the normal one, won't work, when there are two of them.
I have not noticed this, in 2-3 days.
The toolbar you are referring to in the link is the favorites bar. That has nothing to do with the fix. The reg fix is for the to the Menu Bar.....File, Edit, View
I understand if you don't want to try it......the problem you are experiencing must be triggered by something else. Next time the problem occurs make note of the time the problem started and go into Event Viewer to see if there is anything in there.

I'll close this question and if the event viewer shows something curious-unusual, I'll report back through this closed thread.
