SBS 2003 adding extra Drive as Data Share

Our SBS Server presently has one 72GB HDD intsalled with the following partions C: System (24GB); D: Data (40GB), E: Exchange (5GB), F: (300MB).  The Data partition is now almost full, and leaves no room for future growth.

D: Data partition has the 'Users Shared Folders' share, and the primary network Share folder which we call "Company", mapped as network drive S: (such that it becomes Company on SERVER)

I plan to install a second 250GB HDD as the Data driive and move the contents of parttition D: to this.

I need some step by step directions to restablish the shares on the new drive, and move the data across.

Acronis Disk Director is available in the event that it is necessary to re-assign drive letters. All HDDs are available and I am ready to start this project ASAP.

Thanks

SBS is not server standard. It has very particular requirements with specific shares and permissions tied to group policy. It is critical with SBS that you use the wizards. There are wizards built-in for moving some data sources and procedures for others. This form is littered with folks trying to restore access after relocating and not following the SBS procedures. I would recomend sticking the the "SBS ways".
RobWill, I 100% agree with you.  I always follow the procedures for SBS when moving data.  Since gonetouring is transferring an entire partition, copying the partition (and removing the original while offline), should allow the setup of the shares, permissions, and quota information to remain intact on the new D:\ drive.  When I think of moving data, it's from one partition or folder to another.  In the drive copy scenario I mentioned, the destination is essentially the same as the source.

Now, if gonetouring wants to just add in the new drive, partition it, assign it an extra drive letter, then copy over data as in the SBS whitepaper, that's fine too of course, but a bit more effort.
