Printer is still acting up. But if I send the error report, at least I am able to print. I have to go into the scan application to get the scanner to work, cannot just press the scan button on the printer any more.

not very helpful if you donot communicate what you did and the results...

For some reason, this patch uninstalled the old print driver in a different way. Then the same print driver was reinstalled. Solution worked.

Try reinstalling the latest version from Dell.
