Outlook 2007 and word 2007 incredible slow to startup

All computers in a company uses Windows XP SP3 and are connected to an AD on a Windows Server 2003. It takes about 1 minute to start Outlook 2007 or Word 2007, but Excel works fine.
If you disconnect the network cable, Outlook and Word start up in a few seconds.
An other problem with the same issue is if you try to change path for templates in Word. It takes about a minute just to open the path window, but if network cable is disconnected the windows open directly.
I've tried with different Anti Virus programs to see it is not a problem with the AV.

Any solutions?

Are the users using folder redirection with offline files enabled?

Check is there is any logon script mapped in AD for user login . If there is no logon script then try the below steps.

- Delete the outcmd.dat from C:\Documents and Settings\username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
- Delete extend.dat from C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
- Try to recreate new outlook profile, if still issue persists try to repair your outlook using tools option.

ASKER

No folder redirection. No offline files. The Oulook Profile is local.

There is a logon script mapping up homefolder and a common share. Thats all.

sekarc4u: Nothing helped and the problem comes up even if I reinstall the computer and set up a new domain user with a whole new Outlook profile.

There is no printer at all installed and no other of the solutions helped.
What about if you remove the user home directory from the user in AD?

Does word start slowly if the computer is connected to the network but NOT joined to domain yet?

Are there any group policies setting default save locations or other word settings?
