Power surge on USB hub followed by BSOD & Event id 1003

I've been using this Acer Travelmate 3200 Ok for several weeks &
just couple of days ago, it started to give a message that the USB
Hub has power surge & then followed by Blue Screen of Death

Atached event viewer showing the error

As this laptop has only 2 USB ports, I needed to connect in a
USB hub to increase number of USB connections.

What else can I do other than "only 2 USB devices at any one time"?

The USB Hub is ATEN's UH-275 which I connect a Netgear Wireless
dongle WG111v2 & an IBM USB mouse

I'm on Win XP SP2.

I tried removing the mouse & plug it into the other USB port & occasionally
still get this Voltage surge occasionally appearing at the bottom right bar
but laptop did not BSOD

Oh, the exact message was :
a USB device has exceeded the power of the USB Hub

Well, even with just the Netgear dongle connected to the ATEN USB hub
(& no other devices connected), just touching the USB hub a bit will
trigger this power exceeded message & cause the Wireless connection
to be dropped.  Looks like the USB hub issue
Glad to hear you found it. Sounds like a loose connection or an electrical short in the hub. Cheaper to replace than a laptop :-)

Of note, some laptops can be quite fussy about the power drawn by USB devices. I've seen a Sony Vaio throw an error when only about 350mA of current was being drawn, whilst the USB spec is for 500mA per port.

Yes, this ATEN UH-275 Hub works on the Acer laptop, just that it gave Power exceeded
when its cable is being touched.  However, with my Dell & Thinkpad laptops, this USB
Hub completely does not respond, not even its LED lights up.  Weird.

Looks like the Acer laptop provided more power on its USB port while the Dell/THinkpad
doesn't supply that much power.  Not crucial, but any idea where I can download the
driver for this Hub as googling doesn't give me any luck

Not even ATEN's link below gave any luck:
