convert Windows Excel file to Mac Excel
I have an excel file that is quite large (635K) with several workbooks and several columns
I already tried saving it as .txt file and it turned out messy. I tried converting to PDF and I lose too many columns.
Copying and pasting contents was very messy.
Saving it as a text file is pretty messy as well but all data from all the columns are there but not neatly.
A MAC person needs to be able to convert this windows excel file to a MAC excel file.
Is there a tool to perform this?
If the user has MAC office, what would they need to convert this file?

They shouldn't have to convert it. Mac Excel will read Windows Excel files, as long as the versions of Excel are more or less of the same vintage.

What happens if the MAC person just opens the Excel file with MAC Office?
It should just open and look like a Windows spreadsheet if the Mac and Windows versions of Excel are the same.
I understand that with older versions of Mac Excel, there was a problem with dates which could be solved by changing a setting in the Mac version:

I think this was resolved in newer versions of Excel.
Also, the older version of Mac Excel did not support VBA functions, so that could be a problem if the Windows Excel spreadsheet used VBA functions.

I'm still trying to get an answer if the MAC person has Office for MAC
There is an Office Compatibility Pack for MAC so OpenXML files can be converted / used. Download is here (for MAC).
agieryic, please provide us with the version of Windows Excel that is the source of your data, and which version of Excel or Office is on the Mac. As others have said, assuming Office 2003 or later, you should just be able to Open... the "windows" Excel file on the Mac.
