Open Files #locks ... what does this number mean?
When I access "Computer Management" | "Shared Folders" | "Open Files" I see a list of all the files open on the server.
I often see files of type ".xls" or ".dbf" have a "# Locks" column with a value of 3. The other day an Access 2007 file had a "# Locks" value of 9700.
I'm wondering what this value means and if it can have any affect on network speed?
