Failed to connect to the exchange server.

Trying to setup Exchange ActiveSync account with an HTC ChaCha and Microsoft Exchange 2003 server.

We succesfully have Nokia's and iPhones configured for email with Exchange.

I am receiving the following error message when clicking Next after putting in the details.

"Failed to connect to the exchange server.
Please check exchange server settings."

The email address is correct, server address correct. Domain correct, username and password are all correct.
Have tried numerous times and continue to receive the same error, however other phones (Nokias/iPhones) can connect using the same settings and user account.

Any help wil be greatly appreciated.

One thing you may try doing is repropogating inheritable permission on child objects in Exchange for the affected accounts. I had an issue with my Droid setup and this was the fix. It's worth giving a try if you haven't already.

Do you have a guide or any further information on repropergating permissions?
I'm not aware of any methods to do so on individual acocunts?
I may have mispoke when I said to do it on the individual accounts. I think it was a global change I had to make.
I am 99% sure this is how I was able to fix the issue on my Incredible when I first needed to get it synched. My boss actually had the same issue with his Droid X. My apologies if this is not able to resolve your issue.

I gave the user a blackberry in the end!

I now have another user I'd like to give the HTC ChaCha to. Same problem.

Have checked your link, the user account does have inherit permissions checked.
